A fan shares his impressive technical demo for Unreal Engine 5, featuring a project with Superman flying over the towering skyscrapers of Metropolis.
Superman is one of the great characters of our popular culture, and it is not surprising that many fans want to see a new video game based on the DC superhero. It has been rumored about it in recent months, but for now, you will have to settle for this impressive technical demo, which uses the early access version of Unreal Engine 5.
A few weeks ago we were able to experience a second presentation of the new Epic Games engine, which left us speechless with its photorealistic graphics, its dynamic lighting engine, and its depth of drawing on the stages. In addition, you already know that Epic launched an early access version of Unreal Engine 5 on its official website, which you can download for free to mess with on your PC.
As a result, user TJATOMICA has shared an impressive technical demo based on Superman, which logically uses Unreal Engine 5. It can be seen through an official thread on Reddit, although unfortunately it must be said that it is only a concept, a demonstration of what the Epic Games engine is capable of recreating … so save the hype.
This demo is purely technical, as it does not include an interface, HUD, missions or other characters . It simply shows Superman flying over the skyscrapers of Metropolis , sporting spectacular light reflections, shading, layer movement and lots of graphic details that will make you drool. As we say, it does not belong to any game, it is just a technical demo made by a fan.
The comments of the publication praise the work of TJATOMICA, which has been around the world in recent hours. There are even those who joke asking for gold rings for the Superman tour, in honor of the infamous (but iconic) Superman 64, released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64 and considered one of the worst games ever.
The truth is that it would not be so far-fetched to think of a new Superman video game. The iconic DC superhero has never been lucky in this regard, unlike companions like Batman. After Marvel’s Avengers and the rumored new Guardians of the Galaxy game, we may see a new Superman title in the future. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
As for Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games made it clear that we will not see it until next 2022, although it will be adapted to PC and new generation consoles as well as PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. If you’re curious, you can check out the latest technical details for Unreal Engine 5 and watch its second tech demo.
